Reconciliation

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed.

First Reconciliation

Children generally receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time in the Second Grade before their reception of First Eucharist (Communion). For information about the requirements for this sacrament, Contact the Director of Religious Education at 847-658-9339. Those children who are older and in a grade higher than Grade 2, should contact the Parish Office at 847-658-7625 for more information and clarification about a special family program called Finding God Together. Both the parent and the student must each attend instructional classes. Finding God Together is the process by which older children are brought to the appropriate sacraments. Contact the Parish Office at 847-658-7625 for more information and clarification.

Through penance, the faithful receive pardon through God’s mercy for the sins they have committed. At the same time, they are reconciled with the Church community. The confession, or disclosure, of sins frees us and facilitates our reconciliation with others.
