Annual Parish Art Scholarship offering $1,000 to eligible student.
Eligibility-All 8th grade parishioners & 8th grade students at St. Margaret Mary School Requirements—One original art project with short essay. Art project must be an original work of art created by the student with no assistance from others.
Permissible Art Projects: Drawings, Paintings, or Sculptures
Mediums for Drawings and Paintings: Pen and ink, acrylic or oil based paint, water color paint, pencil, or charcoal.
The drawings or paintings can be completed on any type of paper or canvas and should be unframed.
Medium for Sculptures: Clay, plaster, metal, wax, or stone.
Essay—One page essay explaining what inspired you to create your art project;
or, what it symbolizes. You can also include what you learned during the process of your creation if you so desire. Essay must be written entirely by the eighth grade student with no outside assistance.
Timing—All art projects and accompanying essays are due Friday, April 15, 2022.
Judging criteria will include the following: originality, creativity, and aesthetic quality (design and color/tones).
There will be one winner chosen to be presented with The Larry Majewski Art Scholarship. The judges will be Gail and Ariel Majewski.
