Anointing of the Sick & Visitation

And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them.

~Mark 6:13

Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is for those with a serious illness. It should be received at the beginning of the illness; please do not wait until near death. The sacrament cannot be given to those who have died. Contact any of the Priests at the Parish Office at 847-658-7625. There is also a Communal Anointing celebrated during the Easter Season at the Sunday Masses.

Through the sacrament of anointing, Christ strengthens the faithful who are afflicted by illness, providing them with the strongest means of support. Jesus showed great concern for the bodily and spiritual welfare of the sick and commanded his followers to do the same. The celebration of this sacrament is an opportunity for the deepening of the faith of the community who are able to witness the faith and devotion of those being anointed.
