Your Knights of Columbus Knights are again hosting a Thanksgiving Day dinner in McDonnell Hall for up to 40 United States Navy Recruits. The recruits come from Great Lakes Naval Station, located in Lake County, home to the Navy’s only Navy boot camp.
For many of the young recruits this is their first time away from Family on a major holiday. The Adopt-A-Sailor event provides a traditional Thanksgiving Day feast, ability to reconnect with family and friends via the donated phones and computers, and a few hours of time to just relax and unwind away from the stresses of boot camp.
This is all made possible from the generous donations from many St. Margaret Mary Parishioners. We need donations of Thanksgiving Day menu items (a family favorite of your choice), that can be dropped off at McDonnell Hall in advance or on T-day. The Knights also welcome everyone to stop by to welcome and socialize with the recruits or to help with the set-up serving and clean-up.
Please scan the QR code which opens Sign-Up-Genius to select a food donation or to sign up to help.
