28th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Drodzy Bracia i Siostry,

As we hear in the first reading about the rich foods and choice wines that the Lord will provide, I want to invite all of us to take an extra moment this week to call to mind what God has already provided for us.

Maybe it’s the meal in front of us, or the roof over our head–but also maybe it’s the laughter of a loved one, an extra moment of rest on a fall day.  Whether we are thinking of the obvious, or the ultra specific things we’re grateful for we can see that there is someone who we are grateful to. He has been, and will continue to be generous to us for no other reason than He loves us.

As we approach the kickoff of the You Will Be My Witnesses Campaign next week, I am filled with gratitude for all those who have been a part of the preparation season. Thank you in advanced for all of you who will be responding to the call of the Lord in support of our campaign. I look forward to sharing more details next week.

    • Please look in our bulletin today for many upcoming events including the Young Adult Speed Date night on October 24th, All Saints Ball on October 31st, and the Knights’ Baby Bottle Drive return is this weekend.

    • Join us to celebrate the St Margaret Mary Feast Day and St John Paul II celebration outside by the ministry center building for some free food and fellowship after the 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM masses next Sunday October 18th.

    • The Social Outreach Ministry and the Youth Group will be collecting new packaged undies, socks, hats, and gloves for the homeless at the PADs and Vineyard shelters for Undie Sunday; which is October 18th.

    • This weekend of October 10th and 11th, we are collecting non-perishable food donations for the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry.

    • The Parish Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 4th at 7:00PM. This Mass is for the parishioners and family members of parishioners who died in the past year. If you would like a name included, please contact the parish office.

    • Join us on Thursday October 15th from 7:00PM to 8:00PM in the church as Fr. Blood is conducting an hour of praise, prayer, and reflection on the topic of “The Heart Speaks, the Lord wants to speak into your life”
